Senior sessions have always been about more than portraits to me. They're about documenting the space between familiarity and what's next-- the final summer before routines change, hometown roads begin to feel different, and possibilities seem endless. On a warm June afternoon, Kerilyn Xander Robertson stepped into this season with a genuine ease that made every photo feel effortless. One of my favorite parts of every senior session is getting to know the person in front of the lens. When I asked Xander about the activities that have defined her high school years, she shared that she's been an active member of her school's band, where she plays the trombone. It's a role that requires dedication, precision, and countless hours of practice-- qualities that quietly reflect the character she's built throughout this season of life.

After graduation, Xander has expressed interest in attending universities in the North Carolina region, where she plans to pursue a career in early childhood education. With an interest in working with young children, I can truly see her becoming a teacher that will make a positive impact by helping students learn, grow, and build a strong foundation for the future.
