Some moments are worth wait for, and Carson's proposal to Laura Lee was one of them.

After months of carefully planning every detail, Carson led Laura Lee to Rhodes Landing in Florence, AL where he got down on one knee and asked the question they had both been patiently waiting for. Against the peaceful waterfront backdrop, the moment unfolded exactly as Carson had envisioned. It was a perfect day dedicated to the future Scotts.

But the celebration didn't end there. After the proposal, their closest family & friends gathered at Turbo Coffee in the heart of downtown Florence to surprise the newly engaged couple. It was an evening filled with happy tears, heartfelt embraces, and the kind of joy that only comes from witnessing two people madly in love.

It was an honor to document every part of this perfect surprise-- from the nervous excitement leading up to the proposal to the celebration that followed. I can't wait to share every moment of Laura Lee and Carson's unforgettable engagement.

"My first impression of Laura Lee was that she was unlike anyone else that I had ever met. She is kind to everyone she meets, she lights up every room she enters, and she is absolutely beautiful. She sincerely loves everyone she meets and sees the best in everyone. I remember thinking to myself just how could someone have such a pure heart and a joyous spirit. I tell a lot of people that we balance each other out a lot. She is very extroverted and has never met a stranger. She will dance at the drop of a hat, and she is never afraid of what people may think. I tend to be more reserved and you won't catch me dancing very often, but I truly believe that we are the perfect balance."

"The first thing I noticed about Carson was his beautiful blue eyes and handsomeness. I remember the first picture my sister showed me of him on his instagram page. Those blue eyes get me every time! This eventually led to me going home after our first date and telling my sister how much we had in common with our hobbies and personalities. Once I got to know him even more, I started to see his commitment to faith, which made him someone I wanted to continue to hang out with and eventually love. I am thankful the Lord brought us together!"

"I don't think there was a single moment where I decided that she was the "one". I think over the past few years that we have been dating the Lord has put it on my heart that she was the one that I am meant to be with forever. I cannot recount the amount of times Laura Lee and I have joined hands and prayed over our lives together. There is something so special about the power of prayer and over the years it became so evident to me that she was the one! Over the past year, I have also watched her become the best teacher/coach and become such a role model to her players and students. It became so clear to me that the Lord has placed us together forever."

"My favorite thing about Carson is his heart for the Lord. When finding someone to spend the rest of my life with, that was the most important thing to me. Carson continually seeks the Lord, prays for our relationship, and tries to live out the Lord's will to the best of his ability. In addition to this, I would have to say his competitiveness (I hate to lose to him in anything!), leadership, and intentionality in making me feel special are at the top as well. I love him so much!"

"I am very much a type-A planner, so most of the planning was complete months in advance before the proposal. I knew I would be stressed if I didn't have all of the details planned out well in advance. Since I bought the ring so ahead of time, I would constantly find myself pulling it out and staring at it when Laura Lee wasn't around. I honestly cannot believe we were able to pull it off as well as we did since Laura Lee is always so nosey! I was definitely more excited than I was nervous because I knew she was going to be so surprised. I think it hit me as I was standing at Rhodes Landing waiting on Ann Margaret to drop off Laura Lee. I remember praying over the proposal in that moment, and telling myself these are the last few moments with Laura Lee having the "girlfriend" title. Overall, everything went perfect and couldn't imagine it going any other way. It truly was a perfect day."

"In all honesty, I was in total shock but filled with excitement. Carson, his family, my family, and our friends kept a huge secret for months, and I am surprised that I did not suspect anything was going on because I am so nosey! Looking back, I can see the pieces coming together though. Once I realized what was about to take place after my sister gave me the dress they (her, my older sister, and mom) picked out for me to wear, I just thanked the Lord for everything leading up to this moment. Our relationship has been a direct reflection of the Lord's goodness and faithfulness. Everything about the day was perfect, and Carson was so intentional with every detail."
